I'm Greg Franklin

I've been in the construction industry for over 30 years and I'm ready to share my knowledge and expertise with you.

My Story

I am a third-generation carpenter-builder. I worked for my father building custom homes until his passing in 2003. I became a state certified building contractor in 2004 and began building custom homes on my own. 

Since then, I have completed high end custom homes as well as various home renovations and additions.

Why I Do It

Over these last ten years I've watched housing prices soar to the point where most young people can't buy a home. When I think of my grandchildren growing up in a housing crisis its heartbreaking. About a year ago I began to think of more affordable housing solutions so almost anyone could become a homeowner and that's how DIY Homestead was created. To date I have designed 5 small homes, not tiny just smaller than what a builder would build for profit. I am going to build all five of these homes on our property as part of our family trust so my children and grandchildren will never have to worry about a home to live in!
